BabyDevelop is a free IDE for GNU/Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. BabyDevelop is licensed under the GPL license.

BabyDevelop does not include a compiler; instead, it uses the GNU Compiler Collection (or, optionally, another compiler) to produce executable code.

BabyDevelop is a lightweight Integrated Development Environment. It means, that only the most essential feature are contained. Thus it is particularly suitable for beginners in programming. Integrated examples allow the junior-developer to develop programms without big trouble. OS platforms are Linux, Mac OSX and Windows by Qt-Libraries. BabyDevelop uses an embedded text editor component from Qt (QTextEdit).
