Cog is a free, open source audio player for Mac OS X. It has a single-paned, playlist interface and supports multiple formats and their metadata that are otherwise unsupported on OS X.
In April 2006, Cog joined fellow Mac OS X open source audio software Max and Tag in an effort to consolidate the presence of OS X open source audio applications on the web. The Cog website was therefore redesigned to match Tag and Max's website, and its forums were moved to the Tag and Max forums. In July 2007, they were moved once again to new forums, shortly before the release of version 0.06.
