Cyclone3 is a free, open source modular content management framework and content management system engine. It is the first open source CMS using Mozilla Application Framework and has XUL administration frontend. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License.

It is currently in use by Slovak Ice-Hockey Federation[1], the OpenDocument Fellowship's OpenDocument validation service [2], ISAF NATO[3], CME's TV Markíza and many others.

Cyclone3 XULadmin is a user-interface for Cyclone3 Framework. With the help of XULadmin, normal people like redactors, editors etc. can easy manage the content of a website. XULadmin is a complex tool for articles, images, pools, files, site-user management, sitemap, direct mail and much more...

Cyclone3 XULadmin works as an extension to the Mozilla Firefox browser. It uses Web 2.0 technologies like XUL (XML user-interface language) for front-end and AJAX/SOAP for communication with back-end (server side). XULadmin frontend was originally developed by Peter Nemšák and Michal Ondrovič.

Originally written by Roman Fordinal in 2000/2001 as a commercial content management system. At that time Cyclone3 was used for example by CME - TV Markíza[4] for 3 years. In 2008 has been TV Markíza rebuild all portals back to Cyclone3 after 1 year using Joomla with set of new applications sponsored.

During the years many new features have been added to the system which eventually led to the creation of an application framework. All Cyclone3 applications are based on open standards and technologies like XUL, DocBook, XML-RPC, SOAP, OpenDocument, etc...

Cyclone3 is developed using Perl, C/C++, Java, XUL and JavaScript. This enables Cyclone3 to create robust, well integrated and specialized applications.
