EasyMOD was started by Craig Nuttall to make installation of MODs quick and easy. The first public version was released on April 14, 2002 to the phpBB MOD development forum.

Craig Nuttall started a SourceForge for EasyMOD on April 20, 2005 and the project was officially handed over to the phpBB MODifications team for further development.

EasyMOD is currently under active development undergoing a complete rewrite. [1]

[edit] phpBB3 Version

A new version for phpBB3 similar to EasyMOD called MODs Manager is being developed by the phpBB.com MOD Team. This version is codenamed "Blinky" and will automatically install MOD's using the new MODX xml format similar to the way EasyMOD did with phpBB2.
