The freeCAD application (not be be confused with FreeCAD) is a free 3D CAD program tailored toward individuals wishing to learn 3D CAD and motion simulation. The developer has retired the project but the old source code and executables are still available.

CADSM of the same author has been discontinued and made freeCAD9 which has colored solids.
