KMess is a Windows Live Messenger alternative chat client for Linux. It allows Linux users to chat with friends who use Windows Live Messenger in Windows or Microsoft Messenger for Mac in Mac OS X. The strength of KMess is its integration with the KDE desktop environment, focus on Windows Live Messenger specific features and an easy-to-use interface.

Like many Linux and KDE applications, KMess is free software. The licensing terms are the GPL.
