Photo is a photo database, it is a cross platform web based application for managing (storing, cataloging and retrieving) digital photos. Photo is not designed to be a system for putting up web galleries.
This software is a storage system for your digital photos, by keeping the files on the computers filesystm, and uses the database to store information about the images.
Although the software has not been updated in a while, this application remains one of the best Photo organising applications available, there are plans to continue the project, and the road map can be found here.
The Photo Project motto is 'so you can find your photos later.'
